Essential Worker Criteria

As we continue to have more faculty and staff move into quarantine through contact tracing, the district will follow CDC and our local health department guidelines for "essential workers" for staff who do not have underlying health conditions.  This will allow staff who have taken and received a negative test to return to work while taking extra precautions for the last seven days of his/her quarantine after they have completed seven days of quarantine from the date of exposure (if notified). These new guidelines will take effect on October 5, 2020.

This is certainly not ideal, and our number one strategy must be preventive measures.  There are several things we can do to limit our exposure at school and in public.

  1. Maintain social distances of 6 ft. or more at work and in public.
  2. Wear a mask at work and when out in public.
  3. Frequently wash hands with 1) soap and water 2) hand sanitizer as a back-up.
  4. Sanitize frequently touched surfaces.
  5. Monitor self for symptoms prior to coming to work or attending social gatherings.

Do NOT come to work if you are uncomfortable in coming back or you are exhibiting symptoms.

Pre-Screen. The employee must check daily for typical COVID symptoms prior to coming to work, including a temperature check prior to coming to school:

Symptoms to monitor prior to coming to work:

☐ A fever (100 degrees or higher or chills

☐New muscle or body aches

☐ A cough, sore throat, headache

☐New loss of taste of smell

☐ A shortness of breath or breathing difficulty

☐ Congestion or runny nose

☐ Extreme Fatigue

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea

If you are experiencing these symptoms, do not come to work until these symptoms are resolved.

Conditions employees must follow in order to return or continue to work if NOT symptomatic, but identified as possibly being exposed through the contact tracing/quarantine process:

  1. Please confer with the building principal prior to coming back to work.
  2. The employee must take his/her temperature twice per day while at work.
  3. If an employee develops symptoms they must notify their supervisor immediately and be allowed to leave work and seek medical attention.
  4. Employees must wear a face mask at all times while in the workplace for 14 days after the last exposure.
  5. The employee must eat lunch by themselves, away from others.
  6. Social distance. The employee should maintain 6 ft. and practice social distancing from all others in the workplace.
  7. Routinely disinfect commonly shared electronic equipment.
  8. Employees can go from home to work, work to home and no other public places.
