The purpose of this newsletter is to celebrate the outstanding work that our students and staff are doing in each of our schools, provide district-level updates, and notify you about important upcoming events.
Highest APR Score under MSIP 6 Bolivar Schools is excited to share the results of its Annual Performance Report from the 2024-2025 school year! We earned an 85.5% APR score, the highest we have received since MSIP6 began. Congratulations to all of our students, teachers, support staff, and administrators! This is a huge accomplishment for our Liberators!
 Proposition Liberators R-1 Projects on Track to Finish in Early 2026
Exterior work on the Proposition Liberators R-1 projects is nearing completion, with interior work still in progress. The Liberator Park restroom and storage facility is completed! We anticipate completing all projects in early 2026!
4th Place at State! Congratulations to our BHS boys cross country team for finishing 4th place at state! Our girls finished 8th place! Emma Howes finished 8th place, Mac Rich finished 15th place, Michaela Young placed 21st, and Landen Young placed 24th! Each of them medaled. More than 300 Hosted at Senior Citizen Night We hosted 300 community members for dinner, performances by our BHS jazz band and choir, and a showing of Little Women by our BHS drama department! A huge thank you to the City of Bolivar for providing golf carts for the event, and to the more than 100 student volunteers who assisted our guests throughout the evening!

Teacher Proud Tuesday and Super Staff Saturday Nominations We are accepting nominations for Teacher Proud Tuesday and Super Staff Saturday. On the second Tuesday of each month, we celebrate Teacher Proud Tuesday, recognizing one teacher from each building. These teachers are also in the running for the Teacher of the Year award. Thank you to Mid-Missouri Bank for sponsoring Teacher Proud Tuesday. Super Staff Saturday is new this year. On the third Saturday of each month, we will celebrate one non-certified staff member from each building. These are paraprofessionals, cooks, custodians, nurses, school resource officers, secretaries, and maintenance/grounds. These staff members are also in the running for Employee of the Year.  More than 200 Hosted for Veterans Day Breakfast and Assembly Thank you to all of the veterans who joined us for our Veterans Day breakfast and assembly at BHS! A huge thank you to our student council, Air Force JROTC, and ProStart students for their work in hosting our veterans!
Outstanding Performances of Little WomenOur BHS Theatre Department delivered a beautiful performance of Little Women! 
From costumes and set design to acting and music, our students showed incredible talent!
 44 Students Sign Apprenticeships through BoMo Works
We celebrated 44 Bolivar High School students who officially signed apprenticeship and internship agreements through BoMo Works with incredible employer partners across our community!

Bolivar Kiwanis Donates $255 to BMS Science Olympiad
A huge thank you to the Bolivar Kiwanis Club for donating $255 from their recent pancake feed to support our Bolivar Science Olympiad team!
 BMS Band Shines at Concert
Thank you to everyone who came to our BMS band concert! We are very proud of the hard work our band members have put in! Go Liberators!
 Special Olympics Bowling Team Captures Medals at Tournament
Congratulations to our Special Olympics bowlers on an amazing day at their bowling tournament! Every single one of our athletes medaled! Way to go, Liberators! We are so proud of you!

Morning Drop-off Procedures Beginning Tuesday, September 30th, and running each day school is in session, BMS will be following updated morning drop-off procedures. Please review carefully:

7:00–7:30 a.m.
All students (grades 6–8) should be dropped off at the FEMA gym doors.

7:30–7:45 a.m.
-
All 7th–8th grade students should be dropped off at the FEMA gym doors.
Breakfast will still be served and available beginning at 7:30. Students dropped off at the FEMA gym can simply walk to the cafeteria from inside the school to get breakfast.
All 6th grade students (or families dropping off a 6th grader along with a 7th/8th grader) should be dropped off at the Main Entrance.

After 7:45 a.m.
All students (grades 6–8) should be dropped off at the Main Entrance.
The FEMA gym doors will close promptly at 7:45.

Main Entrance Reminder
No students should walk to the front entrance and wait for doors to open.
Students arriving before 7:30 must enter through the FEMA gym.
Students who walk to school and arrive before 7:30 will also be directed to the FEMA gym.

Jackson Street Safety
Families should not drop off their student(s) anywhere on Jackson Street for them to walk to the front door.
All students must be dropped off at their designated entrances as outlined above.

Traffic Pattern for FEMA Gym & Field House Drop-Off
Access the FEMA Gym drop-off area from the Jackson Street drive.
Drive south toward the football practice field, then turn to proceed along the Field House/FEMA gym.
Exit by driving west along the maintenance building toward the Jackson Street stop sign.
Do not let students off in the teacher parking lot at the west side of the building, and do not attempt to pass through the west side parking lot to access Jackson Street.

Family Reading Nights Draws Hundreds of Families
The Bolivar Primary School Family Reading Night was a blast! 
Students explored pirate-themed activities, met author Izzy B and illustrator Ben Askew, and enjoyed the candy cannon!
