9/2/2020 District Update

The following message contains vital information addressing changes in instructional settings for students, free meal information, and transitioning in and out of AIM learning.

Setting Changes

Bolivar High School - Beginning September 3, BHS will enter Setting 5, Alternative Instructional Methods (AIM) every day, with no in-person attendance for students. This will continue through September 11. On September 14, BHS will transition into Setting 3, blended learning week with two groups of in-person learning (50% of students) and 3 AIM Days. Further instructions will be sent at a later date to families about which group your student is in. Students who attend Bridges will be in Setting 5 as well. Students who attend OTC will still report to classes and the OTC bus will still run at the normal time. Student activities will continue.

Bolivar Middle School - BMS will remain in Setting 2, regular school week, all students attending in-person for 4 days, and one AIM day.

Bolivar Intermediate School, Bolivar Primary School, Early Childhood Learning Center - All will remain in Setting 1, regular school week, all students attending with in-person learning.

We will determine when the next setting transition will be based on the conditions of our district.

Free Meal Information

The USDA is offering a free feeding program to all students in our school district.  Bolivar Schools will transition into this program immediately and will offer free meals to all students who are in-person, AIM, or under quarantine. We will begin a meal pick-up for all (K-12) AIM and quarantined students at Bolivar High School beginning tomorrow and extending through September 11 from 9 am - 11 am. Please fill out this form if you are an AIM student or in quarantine and plan to utilize this program. You must be using a Bolivar Schools email account to fill out this form

Transitioning In & Out of AIM

In light of the current health environment at Bolivar High School, we have discussed the feasibility of allowing AIM students to move back into seated instruction if this format better meets student learning needs during the current semester.  While this is a deviation from our original plan, we are seeing many students impacted by the rise in COVID cases at BHS. A change in settings will allow for more social distancing and will require fewer students to quarantine. Our number one goal is to provide the best possible learning setting for all of our students. Please contact your building principal if you are interested in moving back to seated instruction prior to the end of the semester.
