The Bolivar R-1 Board of Education is hosting a public forum as part of its February meeting focused on gathering feedback related to potential next steps for district safety and security measures. The public hearing is designed to solicit public opinion from district patrons regarding the creation of a school protection officer program as outlined in state statute (160.665).

The public comment session is scheduled for 6:00 PM on Thursday, February 20th, at the Bolivar Schools Central Office, located at 524 W. Madison Street. Community members who wish to share their thoughts are encouraged to arrive promptly by 6:00 PM.

“The safety and well-being of our students and staff are at the heart of our work as a district,” said Dr. Michael Methvin, Superintendent of Bolivar R-I Schools. “We look forward to hearing from our community as we explore the potential for future safety measures.”

The regularly scheduled Bolivar School Board meeting will immediately follow the public hearing at 6:30 PM.
